Jennifer O'Neil, PT, PhD
I am a physiotherapist and associate professor in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. I am passionate about finding ways to provide accessible and equitable rehabilitation care for all.
My research program focuses on improving access to effective physiotherapy and community-based rehabilitation using technology and participatory approaches. My doctorate thesis targeted the implementation of intensive home-based telerehabilitation programs for people living with a moderate or severe traumatic brain injury. I have led capacity building projects and telerehabilitation implementation research across Canada, including implementing a telehealth fall prevention program for francophone communities living in minority situations.
From a global health perspective, using person-centered and mixed-method approaches, I aim to improve health equity and access to rehabilitation services for underserved communities.
